Mariage d’Amour by Paul de Senneville
arranged by Ilse de Ziah for Solo Cello
Intermediate to advanced
Written in 1978 and first performed by pianist Richard Clayderman for whom Senneville wrote around 400 pieces. He also composed many songs for movie sound tracks. The original is light, easy listening music on piano and very relaxing to listen to, but bring it to the cello and it finds a deeper more passionate spirit.
Enjoy the flowing lines and the satisfying chord changes. Some sections are possible for the less experienced players and the piece offers an excellent exercise in string crossings.
Always a favourite with audiences.

Hi, are you selling two different levels on Mariage D’amour? If so is the sound the same when playing the less experienced piece?

Hi Margie, I’m selling just one level. There are different sections in the same piece, so some parts of the piece are easier to play than others and the more difficult passages can be skipped and the piece will still sound great!
