Solo Cello-2 pages-pdf format-intermediate level
College Groves, also known by many other names; The New Demesne, College Grove, The Millstone. The oldest source for this tune is in O’Neills Music of Ireland in 1903. It is lively and fun to play. There are a few suggested ornamentations, so it sounds good immediately. Listen to other versions and add your own ornamentations. In sessions with fiddle players it is usually played as written here, in the key of D.

I loved playing this piece. It was challenging enough for me and I play it on the gig and everyone was very impressed. I will definitely be back for more. Keep up the good work. Thanks, Frank

Hi! You’re like an inspiration to me. I grew up listening to traditional Irish music. And about 5 years ago I started playing the cello. I’ve spent forever trying to find a challenging enough Irish piece for solo cello, and as soon as i heard this on YouTube I knew I had to get it! Thank you so much for putting this up, i’m really excited to buy it!
